I am an environmental economist and graduate student in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with an expected graduation date in Spring 2024.
My research studies how climate change interacts with different aspects of human well-being, such as examining the impact of weather events on household finance, understanding the ways it affects mental health, and examining the role it plays in exacerbating disease.
I am interested in pursuing policy driven environment-based research that advances human well-being with an eye towards mitigating and adapting to climate challenges. My work as a LAMP Fellow and as a member of the Indian national team for the UNDP's global Biodiversity Finance Initiative was an opportunity to understand the policy-making process. This experience motivated me to pursue a graduate program and develop a research agenda that informs the critical policy decisions.
